Mother’s Day is more than just a day in May when we give flowers to Mom and make her breakfast in bed. Mother’s Day is the day we reflect on what our mother means to us, the sacrifices she made, the lessons she’s taught, and the strength she gives us. Mother’s Day is the day we recognize, not just our biological moms, but moms of all types: Bio-moms, bonus-moms, foster moms, grandmothers, aunts, and all the important women who enrich our lives.
Here at BZ FurFur we decided this year to honor all those moms with a tribute to mothers from all different cultures. We created a series of cutting boards that are inspired by all different countries and time periods:
- Berkano: Norse Rune of continued growth, rebirth, and renewal
- Kanji: Japanese symbol for mother
- Tapuat: Represents the relations between mother and child
- Parvati: Indian goddess of purity, fertility, and beauty
- Yemaya: African Goddess of motherhood and the sea
- Celtic Motherhood Knot: Everlasting bond between mother and child
- Gaia: Greek Goddess of the Earth
- Arabey: Caribbean ancestral mother of the Taino
We hope that your Mother’s Day is a celebration of love, devotion, and affection. Take time this year to celebrate those mothers who aspire, inspire, and teach us to be the greatest we can be.
